Aaliyah Biopic Casts New Lead Actress
Taking the place of Disney actress/singer Zendaya Coleman (who dropped out shortly after being casted) is Alexandra Shipp. A young actress best known for her role on Nickelodeon’s House of Anubis, and has made appearances on MTV’s Awkward and Showtime’s Ray Donavan. Now with the new leading role set in place, production is set to resume this summer with Aaliyah: Princess of R&B scheduled for a fall premiere on Lifetime. (Credit Shake, 2dbz)

She ain’t no better a selection that Zendaya lol

Aaliyah family still don’t want the movie tho

she look more like zoe kravitz lol

They keep going out of their way to get some mixed girl to play her.

Q: Black women, you claim you're going back to wearing your natural and that you're Black and proud yet you spend a fortune on "natural hair products", sometimes more products than you needed before. You do twistouts and braidouts to get curls and use gel to "tame the edges" but you claim to be natural. You spend hours working on changing your hair texture and have coined all these different terms and acronym for the "natural hair movement". It all seems fake to me.
